Hello, I'm Pauline. I've been in the hairdressing industry for 30 years. I'm Responsible for 15 great members of staff, recruitment, marketing and growing our business with Aveda, ghd, Schwarzkopf and Wella. Overseeing the ongoing training of all staff and pushing them to always stay on trend. I am very passionate about the level of expertise our salon offers and the experience gained in choosing us. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my Son, Family and Close Friends. I love to visit the Gym most days, Snowboard, Climb Munro's, Eat out and drink fine wines. Not forgetting my holiday's and shopping! I love life and live it to the full.....
I’m Laurie, I am one of the salon Partners here at Partners Hair & Beauty. I opened the salon back in 1998 with my partner Pauline. I’m sure you will agree our salon has come a long way in the last 18 years. Myself and Pauline work hard to ensure our amazing team, including myself are always on top of the latest trends. We also offer excellent in salon training every week where our team can build their skill set. I have been doing hairdressing for approximately 30 years; I have a very strong loyal clientele that keep me very busy weeks in advance. I do enjoy welcoming new guest’s, but I would always recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment.
When did you begin your career as a stylist? I first started as a Saturday girl in a small salon where I discovered my passion for hair. I pursued this by going to college and gained a HNC qualification in two years. I then found myself with the amazing opportunity to work at Partners Hair & Beauty. Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing? I love seeing a guest having a change! There is nothing better than taking a before and after picture, especially when carrying out a bleach and tone service. Its my ultimate favourite. What do you love about being a hairdresser? Meeting new people and sharing my knowledge. I am part of the in-salon training team and assist with the training of apprentices working towards their City & Guilds Hairdressing qualifications. Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair? I'm inspired by Sophia Hilton and the guys at Not Another Salon. They are honest about hair and peoples expectations when it comes to colouring hair. If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you? Balance Shampoo from Wellas System Professional, Sugar Lift Spray from Eimi and The System Professional Luxe Oil What is your ultimate ambition? I would love to own my own salon in the future. How would you describe yourself in three words? Energetic, Kind and Determined.
Hi my name is Donna Murray and I've been a stylist here at Partners Hair and Beauty for nearly 9 years. I wanted to be a hairdresser ever since I can remember. It's a career where I meet interesting people , can make my guests feel good about themselves ,which gives me great job satisfaction. I enjoy cut and colouring hair from start to finish, to ensure my guests get the look they desire. In both 2012 & 2013 I was nominated for Scottish Hairstylist of the Year, winning the award in 2013 has been my biggest personal achievement to date. I feel lucky to be working with talented stylists and to have such loyal clients. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my family. I started off from in small local salon where I progressed from my training as an apprentice into a stylist. After 7 years I felt it was the right time for me to move on to a bigger salon environment. I love working at Partners as I like learning and there are so many new opportunities.. I always want to learn more love meeting new people. I really enjoy giving someone a restyle, knowing that they leave the salon buzzing with their new look.
What do you love about being a hairdresser? As an Apprentice I'm engaging with all our guests on a daily basis. I just love doing hair! Being a hairdresser also has a great social aspect to it. I love to change a persons appearance to make them feel great. I know that bad hair makes you feel awful. What do you love about being a hairdresser? I love social media and follow other salons and stylists who are always sharing hints and tips. Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on and why? What would you do to their hair? I would love to get my hands on Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles. Afro Caribbean Hair is a skill to master. If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you? Wella Perfecton/8, System Professional Reconstructive Elxir and Eimi Sugar Lift Spray. What is your ultimate ambition? My ambition is to complete my apprenticeship and graduate as stylist. I would love to be a session stylist styling hair for shows and events all over the world like at New York Fashion Week. How would you describe yourself in three words? Outgoing, Fun & Unique.
When did you begin your career as a stylist? Whilst at school I worked as an Assistant in House of Liberty on the Perth Road in Dundee. During that time, I was always watching the stylists with their guests what was going on. My love for hair was born from there! I then started in Partners as a Trainee Apprentice (I carried my SVQ City and Guilds Level 2 whilst working in the salon in conjunction with Dundee College) - and the rest is history! What do you love about being a hairdresser? I love learning new things every day. At Partners, our training is ongoing and we are pushed to be the best possible stylists we can be. I really enjoy spending time with my guests and giving them exceptional hairstyles. Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on and why? What would you do to their hair? I would love to barber Connor McGregor. I think his banter would be a great laugh! Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair? I love to make people feel and look great. I love to create classic Hollywood waves using my ghd styler, along with big bouncy blowdries with my ghd air dyer - my guests always look great, and their hair is full of volume and movement. I'm always looking for inspiration on Social Media, especially on Instagram. What is your ultimate ambition? My ultimate aim is to open my own salon one day. How would you describe yourself in three words? Hyper, Fun and Outgoing
Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing? I'm a self-confessed hair colour Queen - I love a Balyage! I love the results of a couture colour, especially the blend a Balyage technique can create along with the colour tones. I also love to learn the cutting techniques. What do you love about being a hairdresser? My apprenticeship at Partners has really helped my confidence to grow. People say I’ve really came out of my shell. I’ve learnt so much and have grown into a Gradate Stylist with my own column and my very own guests. Now Ive completed my apprenticeship I’m looking forward to building my column as a new stylist, and see where my hairdressing skills can take me around the world. Lastly, I love to meet new guests and make them look and feel amazing with their new hair styles. Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair? I like seeing other colour technicians and hair stylists work on social media especially seeing how they have created the look. My colleagues are very knowledgeable and I love to watch them transform their guests in front of my own eyes. If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you? Wella System Professional Reconstructive Elixir, Wella Eimis Dry Me and Wella Eimi Perfect Me. What is your ultimate ambition? My ultimate aim is to open my own salon one day. How would you describe yourself in three words? Canny, Bubbly & Friendly.
How did you being your career in the beauty industry? I'm a qualified Beauty Therapist and I studied at Dundee College, Kingsway Campus, for 4 Years to obtain HND in Beauty Therapy. Whilst a student, I worked in Benefit Cosmetics within Debenhams Overgate Dundee doing Makeup and Brows. Which beauty treatment do you absolutely love doing / are you renowned for? Why do you love doing this treatment? I especially love waxing as I love to see the results when getting rid of all that excess hair! What do you love about working at Partners? I love the vibe here at Partners Hair and Beauty. We are one big happy family. Which celebrity would you like to see walk into your salon? Which treatment would you give them? I would love to give Channing Tatum a Full Body Massage... If you had to live on a desert island, which three beauty products would you take with you? Lipstick - can't go anywhere without it! Perfume - because every girl needs to smell nice. Moisturiser - to keep the skin hydrated. What is your ultimate ambition? I would love to teach Beauty Therapy. Sharing my knowledge and enuthiasm with trainee therapists. How would you describe yourself in three words? Happy, Fabulous & Fun.
How long have you been in the industry, and what do you love about it? I have worked in the hospitality indursty for over 20 years prior to starting with the hairdressing industry - I'm all about Customer Care. I enjoy engaging with guests, being their first point of contact and the last person they see on their journey in the salon. Excellent customer service is my priority. Which celebrity would you like to see walk into the salon... and why? I would love to welcome David Attenbourgh. He has a fountain of knowledge about our planet and has visited so many amazing places, touched nature and understands our future as humans on earth. Who or what inspires you? I am inspired by gaining as much knowledge as possible to help me move forward as a person in my both my work and personal life. People who have passion and are enthusiastic! What is your ultimate ambition? My ultimate ambition is to get more involved in event management and eventually to run my own B&B in sunnier climates. How would you describe yourself in three words? I'm Lesley-Ann, I'm front of house here at Partners & Beauty. I have always been a very enthusiastic friendly person. I left school with the ambition of becoming a great hairdresser. After training as an apprentice at Partners, I was given the opportunity to work abroad where I gained a fresh set of life skills. Knowing I have always loved being part of the hair & beauty industry I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to rejoin the team at Partners. I have since advanced my education and feel confident I can offer excellent, knowledgeable customer service. I am very passionate about my job and the talented team I work with, therefore I am sure I will make great effort to match our much valued guests with the right stylist or therapist to ensure we achieve the best possible service.
